Good play sofa foam springs back after play, but every foam softens a little with use, ours included. That's normal wear, not a fault. Significant foam degradation that affects the comfort and structure of the sofa is a manufacturing defect, and our 3-year limited warranty covers it.
We make play sofas, so we'd rather tell you what to expect than make big promises. Here's what's inside ours, what counts as normal and when to get in touch.
We use high-density, high-resilience foam from Polish manufacturers, with no added chalk or fillers. High-resilience means the foam springs back after it's been pressed down.
All the base cushions are the same height, so the pieces line up when you lay them flat. The whole 160 cm Play Sofa weighs just under 14 kg, so children can carry the pieces themselves.

Foam quality varies a lot. Cheap, low-density foam sags quickly with everyday use. You can't see the foam through a cover, so it's worth asking before you buy. Ask what foam is used, where it comes from and whether it has fillers. Then read what the warranty says about the foam.
Softer foam after months of play is normal. Significant foam degradation is not. Here's how we tell them apart.
| What you notice | What it is | Covered by the warranty? |
|---|---|---|
| The foam feels a little softer after months of use | Normal wear | No |
| The foam has degraded significantly and the sofa is less comfortable or no longer holds its structure | Manufacturing defect | Yes, for 3 years |
| Stains or damage from spilled liquids | Not a defect | No |
| The sofa stayed in its box for more than 6 weeks after delivery | Left compressed for too long | No |
Our 3-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects in the foam and fabric. It doesn't cover gradual softening, because that happens to every foam. The warranty applies to normal use, in line with what the sofa is made for.

Four habits make a difference.
Write to us at contact@heyshappy.com. Include your order number, tell us what you see and attach a few photos. If it's a manufacturing defect and the sofa is within its 3-year warranty, we'll repair or replace the piece affected.
